Both the U.K and the U.S. have the added albatross of the enormous sexual, financial and scientific ethics scandal that is personified by Jeffrey Epstein and goes far beyond him. It has entrapped all the major political parties of both countries, as well as prominent people, from Noam Chomsky to Ariane de Rothschild. Our President is involved, and probably PM Starmer, as well. How much anyone in Hungary is tied up in this, is a good question.

This is what we are facing in the U.S.as well.

I wish Americans would read your analysis. We can learn from you! I hope Hungarians follow you as closely as people around the world. You provide such helpful commentary.

As in Hungary I read, I thought again and again -- Trump. And Obama's banker-coddling. And Ford's pardon of Nixon. And the sordid Biden-shields-Biden scuttle back to Delaware. Oh, the USA could learn much from your way of thinking. * * * Whilst I doubt that I shall soon be reconciled to your prose style, your analyses seem well-framed. That of course means only that I agree with their conclusions, but it certainly will keep me here, grateful for what you write although gritting my teeth now and again at how you write it. Thank you !

The shell stayed familiar while the animal inside changed. How well put. Once again you get to the meat of the changes necessary, and the ways it could be distorted & used, by the very people who caused the problems to begin with. May all work out to make Hungary a place for all it's people, where all have a voice & no power elites can use others.

Excellent article...what USA will be looking at if we do not reverse the multifaceted attack on our democracy.

An excellent analysis. As a Finn, I identify several similarities of the power

structures of the Finnish state socialdemocracy with Orbanism (the justice, media outlets, ministries, security police dominated by social democrats etc)although in the elections the social democrats were supported not more than 23-24% &unemployment is almost 11%& public spending 58% of GDP. Well. What is the criteria of socialism? Before 24.2.2022 a big majority was against nato and the parties from center to the left were considered pro Russia and anti nato. Something has changed but unemployment is still high and next year state socialdemocrats may win 22-23 % in the elections and start running their power structures again. My view may be challenged but a serious debate about my points would not be a bad idea either.
